Silver Maple is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America. Its leaves are pale green with a silvery underside. In areas where this species is common it is considered to be a poor choice for urban locations for a variety of reasons. Among them are brittle branches that break easily in storms and aggressive roots that damage sidewalks and sewer pipes.
