Cordyline (sometimes called Dracena or cabbage tree) is a plant native to New Zealand that can reach 20-30 ft at maturity. The trunk looks woody like a tree, but the species is more closely related to agaves and yuccas, and they are in the asparagus family. Flower clusters appear in late spring.
