NW corner of Magnolia and Piedmont

Tulip magnolia (also called saucer magnolia) is one of many deciduous magnolia species and hybrids, but is the one most commonly seen around Larkspur. The tulip shaped pink flowers open in advance of the foliage in late February and early March. This one on Magnolia and Piedmont is over 50 years old and continues to produce an astonishing display of blooms every year.
