There’s a lot to like about hawthorns. Washington thorn is a small deciduous tree that produces clusters of white flowers in the spring. In the autumn the foliage turns to bright orange falling to reveal copious quantities of red berries that hang on through the winter and are a great attractant for birds. Watch out for thorny branches though!
